A straightforward eSIM, on purpose
Sorted from Aotearoa New Zealand
Who we are
SweetAsSIM is a service of Rapid Roam, a New Zealand business (NZBN 9429048418478). We're not a mobile network ourselves - we're a small, focused Kiwi team that partners with an established eSIM infrastructure provider to offer travel data plans for 145 countries, built and supported from right here in New Zealand.
The team behind it comes out of travel, telco, and mobile - between us, over 15 years in the tech and mobile space before SweetAsSIM existed. That's less "we thought eSIMs seemed interesting" and more having sat through enough roaming bill shocks, hidden fair-use throttling, and support queues to know exactly which parts of a data plan are worth fixing and which are just noise.
Who it's for
SweetAsSIM is built for Kiwis heading off on their OE, a work trip, or a family holiday who'd rather spend two minutes sorting data before they fly than two hours fighting with a phone once they land. If you're the type who reads the fine print on a data plan, the flat GB number is exactly what you're after. If you're not that type either, there's still nothing to configure beyond picking a size and scanning a QR code.
Why we built it
Shopping for a travel eSIM usually means wading through plans marked "unlimited" that quietly throttle your speed once you cross a hidden fair-use limit, and pricing pages that need a spreadsheet to compare. We wanted the opposite: pick a GB size, pay one clear price in NZD, get full network speed for every gigabyte of it - no fine print about slowdowns, no surprise fees.
How we operate
- Honest limits. The GB number on your plan is what you get, at full speed, the whole time - see our FAQ for more on why we don't do "unlimited."
- Simple pricing. One price per plan, shown upfront in NZD, no hidden add-ons at checkout.
- Straightforward refunds. Full refund before your plan ever activates, within 180 days of purchase - see our Refund Policy for the specifics.
- Real support. Email support@sweetassim.co.nz - a person reads every message.
